Maison Mihara Yasuhiro was founded in 1997 in Tokyo by Japanese designer Mihara Yasuhiro, who began his career studying textile and footwear design at Tama Art University. The brand was renamed Maison Mihara Yasuhiro from the 2016 to 2017 Autumn/Winter season, marking a wider expansion across ready-to-wear and accessories. The house is defined by its avant-garde Japanese sensibility, deconstructed details, and a craft-led approach to footwear that built the brand's reputation.
The collection spans the full Mihara wardrobe. Footwear is led by the cult Original Sole sneakers, with hand-molded chunky soles modelled in clay and digital 3D, including the Peterson, Hank, Wayne, Baker and Blakey silhouettes. Ready-to-wear runs across tailoring, knitwear, shirting and outerwear with deconstructed and asymmetric detailing. Accessories sit alongside, carrying the same hand-finished punk-chic codes throughout.
