Maison Mihara Yasuhiro was founded in 1997 in Tokyo by Japanese designer Mihara Yasuhiro, who studied textile and footwear design at Tama Art University. The house is defined by its avant-garde Japanese sensibility, deconstructed details, and a craft-led approach to footwear that built the brand's reputation from the start.
Footwear is the brand's most recognised category. The collection centres on the Original Sole line, a series of low and high-top sneakers built around hand-molded chunky soles modelled in clay and 3D, then paired with classic canvas or leather uppers. Key silhouettes include the Peterson, Hank, Wayne, Baker and Blakey, each carrying the brand's signature deconstructed detailing, exposed stitching and yellowed rubber finish.
