アレクサンドル・マテュッシは1980年生まれで、パリのデュペレ・ファッションデザインスクールに通いました。パリ、ミラノ、ニューヨークなど、数々のファッションハウスで経験を積んだ後、2011年に自身のブランドを設立しました。カジュアルとシックが融合したメンズ＆レディースのワードローブを展開するAMIは、パリという街にインスピレーションを得て誕生しました。マテュッシのイニシャルに由来するAMIという名前は、現代のパリジャンの雰囲気、つまりリラックスした雰囲気、誠実さ、そして親しみやすさを反映しています。
