Marni was founded in Milan in 1994 by Swiss designer Consuelo Castiglioni with her husband Gianni Castiglioni, originally as an extension of the family fur business. Since 2025, the house has been led by creative director Meryll Rogge, who succeeded Francesco Risso. Marni is defined by an eclectic, art-driven sensibility, bold prints, unexpected colour pairings, and a craft-led approach to materials.
The clothing collection runs across the full wardrobe. Knitwear includes sweater-vests, cardigans and chunky jumpers in clashing colour and pattern. Dresses range from pencil and pleated shapes to looser, layered cuts, often in the house's signature polka dots, stripes or original artist-collaboration prints.
