Ann Demeulemeester Shoes

Ann Demeulemeester founded her eponymous label in Antwerp in 1985 with her partner, photographer Patrick Robyn. A member of the Antwerp Six, she built a house defined by dark romanticism — deconstructed tailoring, an austere black-and-white palette and a poetic, androgynous sensibility.

Footwear carries that vocabulary in leather. The house is known for its lace-up ankle boots, and the collection here includes the Heiko laced-back ankle boot and the Fides soft high-top boxing sneaker — both in black leather, with the slim lines, raw finishing and quiet hardware that define the brand. Form stays sculptural; nothing is loud.
